The hedgerows at Snape Maltings, where Benjamin Britten worked for much of his life, have wild roses laced through them in the early autumn. Gorgeous tangles of blooms and hips speak of a warm summer. This painting would suit both a country-house style interior, and a modern or contemporary setting.
